4 Supremely Tough But Wise Decisions You’ll Make in Life

The decisions you make, no matter how big or small, have a lasting impact on your life. You’re gonna live and breathe through the choices you make, so it is in your best interest to choose wisely, right? Well, it is not always that simple. You will encounter many situations when life will throw curveballs at you and put you in the spot of making some tough decisions, where all you can do is use the information you have available and pick the best course of action that you can.

So, what are those curveballs, and what is the best way to deal with them?

Here are 4 tough decisions you'll probably have to  make at some point in your life, along with an ideal way to approach each one of  them:

1. Moving to a new city:

As humans, we crave the feeling of belonging. This can make it a real task to move to another city and in the case of a different country, where you will perhaps have to master a different language, it can prove to be all the more daunting. Maybe you’re moving for a career opportunity, higher studies, or simply for a change of pace. It is completely okay to have relocation anxiety, especially if you’re moving alone. To ease yourself into this process, try creating a fresh network or joining a few social groups, find out activities you could do, and most importantly, accept that it will take time to settle in and take things as they come.

2. Being financially wise:

We cannot stress the importance of saving your hard-earned money- it is a skill, a life hack, and a shield to secure your future. If you’re someone who tends to spend your money on stuff you don’t really need, then the best way to protect your funds is to put your money into savings before the compulsive shopper in you wakes up.

Paytm Wallet is the most widely used digital wallet in the country, which makes transactions super quick and effortless. For a shopaholic, this might prove to encourage impulse buys and ad hoc spending. So, the best way to conserve your funds is to transfer the money you no longer require back to your bank account from your Paytm wallet. The good news is that this is possible and is a free-of-charge feature available on the Paytm App. You can send money either to your own account from the Paytm wallet or to a recipient’s bank account, even if the recipient is not a Paytm user. Now, how convenient is that!

Go to the ‘My Paytm’ section and click on ‘Paytm Wallet.

On opening the Paytm Wallet, you will find an option to ‘Transfer to Bank.’

Add the amount you wish to transfer. It can be anywhere between Rs. 20 and Rs. 25000. (We are talking to you, compulsive shoppers: Take this as a sign to all that you have back into your account).

Put down your account details- account number, IFSC code, and account name.

Alternatively, you can also pay into the bank account by clicking on the ‘Pay’ option. A QR code scanner opens up that you can use to scan the UPI QR code of the recipient. You can also select the recipient’s mobile number to send money.

3. Walking out of a toxic relationship:

If we go by fairytales and romantic movies, then the person who we fell in love with wouldn’t be the one who breaks our heart. Unfortunately, real-life doesn’t work like that. We fall in love, we commit, and there are times that we can get hurt. One of the toughest decisions in life is to walk away from a toxic relationship while you’re still attached to the person. It is quite easy to get attached to a relationship,  a person, and patterns that create a sense of familiarity. Walking away from that familiar place—even when you know it no longer serves you well is a hard call. If you are contemplating leaving a toxic relationship, only you can make the right decision that you need. Just keep this in mind: breaking out of an unhealthy relationship pattern and prioritising yourself and your happiness can prove to be one of the best decisions of your life in the long run.

4. Adopting a healthy lifestyle:

A healthy lifestyle is not just limited to nutrition— but also includes sweating it out, being mindful of your thoughts, surrounding yourself with the right people, and ensuring that you get proper sleep. Implementing all this in a world full of distractions is no easy feat. Manoeuvring the challenges and temptations that life throws at you requires planning, preparation, and decision-making. Switching to a holistic lifestyle brings about tremendous changes in your life, environment and the way you feel. All you need to do is practice small changes consistently over a period of time to let it all add up to make a big difference. Remember, you gotta do what you gotta do!

Always remind yourself that the kind of decisions that build a great future rarely come down to tossing a coin. You have to put in the hard work and make some compromises to get the results and the life that you want. However, there is no need to panic or feel that it is too late to start making big changes in your life. There is no time like the present to start living the life you choose. Just stick to your goals and follow your dreams with discipline and consistency, and you will get there, we promise!
