Dior’s Pre-fall 2023 show at the iconic Gateway of India was a first for many reasons. For one, it marked the first official calendar display by a luxury brand in India. It was also the first of its kind the venue had witnessed. The historically-significant show also marked the runway debut of Myra Rampal, daughter of Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal and ex-supermodel Mehr Jesia. She wore a strapless, belted fuchsia pink Dior ensemble. For the 17-year-old, it marks as high-profile a campaign as it gets.
Feeling proud, Arjun took to his Instagram account to share a photo of his daughter and captioned that: “Today my gorgeous little princess, walked her first runway. That too for #christiandiorThe best thing about it was that she did it all on her own merit. From auditions to fittings. To be chosen from all the tuff competition. She has made us all super proud. Wishing her more success, love and happiness.” He went on to congratulate her and call her a “star”.
Friends and fashion enthusiasts instantly dropped a bunch of reactions to the news. Preity Zinta wrote: “Wow ! Congrats @myra_rampal you have grown up so fast & so beautiful ❤️❤️ God bless,” while Deanne Panday dropped a series of heart emojis to it.
