Taylor Swift’s Silver Chain VMA Dress is the Flapper Chic Inspo You Need Now

If there is anyone who knows how to make an entrance, it’s Taylor Swift. After being away from the public eye for some time, she surprised everyone by showing up at the 2022 VMAs. What made her arrival even more of a head-spinner was her choice of outfit- a naked-ish Oscar de la Renta dress. 

The pop star brought the glitz and the glamour to the VMAs in a very 1920s-glam way. She picked a minidress that was gracefully strung together by layers upon layers of silver bejewelled chains over a simple nude form-fitting bodice. She amped up the look by pairing the shimmering dress with similar crystal-embellished Christian Louboutin heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery. 

The finishing touches came with a metallic manicure, winged eyeliner and of course, the statement red lip that she has come to be known for. Taylor also chose to wear her hair in a low bun with curtain bangs so as to not take away from the dress. Taylor was nominated in five categories and she bagged three awards, including the night’s most prestigious award- Video of The Year which she won for her All Too Well [Taylor's Version] video. And what made her win exceptionally special was the fact she announced her upcoming album, Midnights in her acceptance speech. This had the Swifties all riled up. 

She said in her speech, "I had sort of made up my mind that if you were going to be this generous and give us this, I thought it might be a fun moment to tell you that my brand-new album comes out October 21st. And I will tell you more at midnight." Staying true to her word, Taylor took to social media to share details about her new album Midnight which will reach us on 21 October. The caption reads, “Midnights, the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life, will be out October 21. Meet me at midnight.”
