These five films are a crash course in shaping the ultimate boyfriend

Ever felt like getting your partner a how-to-be-the-best-boyfriend-ever manual? No doubt he is a great boyfriend, but there's always room for improvement. Getting your girlfriend flowers, writing a letter, etc are just a few examples of how he could go from being good to amazing! But instead of having a tedious conversation about it, why not watch a movie that reflects some of the classic green-flag guy behaviour?

So grab the popcorn, get cosy start streaming!

Jab We Met (2007)

We all know brooding businessmen like Aditya who need someone like Geet in their life. In the movie, Geet's zest for life and bubbly personality break through Aditya's icy exterior, turning him into a caring, fun-loving person. He goes from a corporate robot to someone with a fresh outlook on life who can handle any storm with a smile, just like Geet. The movie is a perfect example of how mutual support and embracing each other through ups and downs can make a difference. So, channel your inner Geet and Aditya and become each other’s biggest support.

The Notebook (2004)

Allie and Noah's love is the purest form in this film. It shows the couple at two stages in their lives: one during their youthful romance and then during their later years. With her disappearing into the shadows of Alzheimer’s, Noah remains devoted, reading to her the story of how they met and fell in love. This movie is a blueprint of what love is and how it endures despite life's obstacles. Show your partner how love can be something timeless and that no matter what, they will always be there.

To All The Boys - Trilogy  (2018-2021)

We all want a Peter Kavinsky in our lives. From leaving sweet notes to casually holding Lara Jean’s hand, he sets the bar high. This trilogy follows their journey: the first film shows how Lara Jean’s former crush becomes her boyfriend, the second highlights the challenges they face together, and the final instalment tests their relationship as they navigate new distances. This series is ideal for showing your partner how to keep the romance alive, even through tough times. Like Peter, we all need reminders that love can overcome any obstacle.

Khoobsurat (2014)

Opposites attract, and this movie proves it. This quirky, modern rom-com follows a hopelessly romantic physiotherapist who falls for a handsome Rajput prince—his personality starkly contrasts hers. As they navigate a clash of family values—one emphasizing discipline and restraint, the other embracing enthusiasm—the film shows how differences can lead to a perfect match. It’s a great pick to inspire your boyfriend to fight for what matters and embrace the idea that love can bridge even the widest gaps.

Hitch (2005)

Sometimes the best dating advice is simply to be yourself. In the film Hitch, the so-called “Date Doctor” Hitch (Will Smith) appears to have all the answers for winning someone over. However, when his client Albert (Kevin James) seeks his help in finding romance, it becomes evident that Hitch knows less about love than he thought. Similarly, our partners should understand that no matter the circumstances, they must first learn to love themselves before they can truly love us.
