Rihanna goes full 1930s with a bouffant ringlet haircut straight out of the Harlem Renaissance

Rihanna is about to release a new short film with her partner A$AP Rocky and the sneak peek has us in an absolute chokehold. It's already iconic and we know that whatever is coming our way is going to be art. We could write an MA thesis on Riri's hair alone.

From the first side shot it looks like fluffy retro curls, but as she turns to the front we see just how much is going on here and what a homage to art and culture and classic beauty lewks. It's *everything*.

Straight out of the Harlem Renaissance era, our girl looks like a classic 1930s Black beauty icon. Slick perfectly-rolled curls at the top of the side-parted look give bouffant volume, while the curls at the sides have been brushed out for a deliciously fluffy texture. Long swirly baby hairs are gelled so perfectly that Josephine Baker herself would applaud.

Paired with that winged eyeliner and red lip? And the shot in black and white? It honestly looks like she time travelled and starred in early classic cinema. That frame goes crazzzyyy.

The caption revealed the details of the shorts' release: "Born To Steal: Yours, Mine, Ours. short film with @asaprocky premiering on @fentyskin + @fentybeauty’s YouTube tomorrow at 10 am PT."

And seeing the product appears in the clip, we're guessing the short relates to Fenty Skin’s recent launch, the Lux Balm Ultra-Hydrating Cherry Lip Balm with Barbados Cherry + Vitamin E, in collab with A$AP. Could it even be the reveal of more products from the couple? Whatever it's about, we'll be watching it on repeat.
