Katy Perry just debuted the bum corset in thong-flashing lace-up skirt

Blame it on the Y2K aesthetic or the inevitable escalation of naked dressing as celebs try to find new ways to go, well... naked, but we've noticed a growing trend on the red carpet as of late. While plunging necklines used to be the go-to in effortlessly achieving a risqué look, our favourite A-Listers are changing it up and daring to bare their behinds instead. Yep, bum cleavage is officially the new bust cleavage.

Of course, Heidi Klum was one of the first to debut the style way back in April last year in a gold chainmail party dress that exposed almost her entire thong. And more recently, Normani donned a red backless jumpsuit that plunged halfway down her bum to show off the design's matching G-string.

And now, Katy Perry is the latest to try out this cheeky trend when she attended the 2024 Billboard Women In Music Awards on Wednesday 6 March. 

Wearing an Ellie Misner red co-ord, Katy's outfit consisted of a strapless lace-up peplum bustier paired with a matching mermaid silhouette low-rise maxi skirt. Featured the same lace-up detailing at the back of the skirt as the corset top, the design flashed Katy's bum crack as well as her black thong, creating what we're calling the bum corset.

Further drawing attention to the rear of her ensemble, Katy had a butterfly-shaped prosthetic tattoo decorating her lower back. With so much going on with her outfit, we almost didn't notice just how seriously towering the black platform heels she had on were.

Double pearl stud earrings and a dainty pearl necklace added a ladylike touch to the daring 'fit.
