Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds are a ridiculously good-looking match made in internet troll heaven (not to be confused with internet troll hell). Twelve years and four kids later, these two jokesters are still crazy in love, and frankly, I’m jealous.

Lively and Reynolds attend their first event together at Comic-Con to promote their movie Green Lantern, and for some reason, they don’t dress in cosplay. As you can tell from this photo, they are super-duper adorable—but the catch? Ryan is still married to Scarlett Johansson.

September 2010

Shit is going down! Lively breaks up with her boyfriend and Gossip Girl costar Penn Badgley, but a source tells Us Weekly that “they’re still good friends and hang out on the set.” LOL, sure.

More shit is going down! By which I mean Reynolds and Scarlett Johannson end their marriage. Hmm, two breakups within mere months of each other? Coincidence? I THINK NOT. Sounds like something Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson would pull, if you ask me.

Sometime between June 2011 and October 2011

Lively and Reynolds go on a double date, which he describes years later. And I don’t want to be dramatic, but this might be the best celebrity love story ever. “We were buddies then,” Reynolds says. “I remember it was funny because, for about a year after Green Lantern had come and gone and all that stuff, we were both single. We went on a double date. She was on a date with another guy, and I was on a date with another girl. That was the most awkward date [from their perspective] probably because we were just, like, fireworks coming across.”

But wait, there’s more! In a now-deleted Instagram post celebrating Reynold’s birthday a few years back, Lively revealed the actual restaurant where they fell in love:

Reynolds also opened up about this moment, telling a publication, “We were hanging out at this little restaurant in Tribeca that’s open really late, and this song came on and I was just like, ‘Want to dance?’ No one was in there, so it was just totally empty. And it was just one of those moments where halfway through the dance, it was like, ‘Oh, I think I just crossed a line.’ And then I walked her home. And, uh, you know, I don’t really need to go into what happened after that.”

Everyone knows. I didn’t want to be the first guy screaming it out to the media, because as we know, little girls turn into teenage girls and little teenage girls sometimes scan through the archives and go, ‘Why did you do that?’” (FYI, James was named after Reynolds' father.)

Page Six reports that Lively has given birth to her second baby, a little girl named Inez. At this point, she and Reynolds are suuuper private about their kids, so no formal announcement is made.

Flash-forward a few months, and in a shocking twist, Reynolds and Lively make their first public appearance with both their kids to celebrate Reynold’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In his speech, Reynolds says, “I want to thank my wife, Lively, who is sitting right there, who is everything to me. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. You make everything better. You make everything in my life better. You’ve given me two of the most incredible children I’ve ever hoped to have.”
