Diet Decoded: What Your Favourite Celebrities REALLY Eat?

Do celebrities eat exotic cuisines made with out-of-the-world ingredients? Or are they simply dal-rice people like us? Often this thought crosses our mind that what do celebrities feast upon during their erratic and hectic schedules to stay fit and fabulous? And what happens to their diet during the festive season?

Personal chefs look after celebrities’ diet plans that differ from time-to-time and take care of their specific food demands, especially when they shoot in faraway locales.  Some days an actor must look lean, while on another shooting schedule, they are required to put on weight.

On days when actors have to look really ripped, salt is taken off their diet completely, while asparagus and broccoli are added so that they pee all the water out of their system, says Harsh Dixit, actor Ranbir Kapoor’s private chef. “Your veins start popping out,” he adds.

He also dishes on Ranbir Kapoor’s favourite cuisine. “He likes simple, Indian food along with Japanese, Thai and a little bit of Italian.”

In an interview, Harsh stated Ranbir eats everything under the sun, given it is calorie counted and the potion is relevant to his diet at that particular time.

Starts either have personal chefs or have customized tailor-made meal services like the one offered by Food Darzee. Dr Siddhant Bhargava, the co-founder of Food Darzee, said in an interview that for actors, they replace rice with cauliflower rice that gives the same taste and texture to the meal at minimal calories.

He adds that Alia Bhatt, like everyone else, is fond of chocolate desserts, and has a sweet tooth. But she is determined to stick to her diet. Because actors have to follow their diet regimes for longer durations of time, they chart a course that is easy to maintain such that it becomes a part of their lifestyle.

Mohit Savargaonkar, head chef and food expert at Pod Supply or Personal Optimized Diet Supply, has worked with Ranveer Singh for over six years now, right from Dil Dhadakne Do to ’83.

He says that Ranveer hates bland food and prefers a colourful diet. “He prefers his meat on the bone and absolutely hates broccoli,” Mohit adds.

During ’83, Ranveer was on a keto diet and hence the main source of his energy was fat. For breakfast, he ate an omelette with some cured meat, had an Asian bowl for lunch and for dinner he went back to Indian food, like lamb curry with almond floor chapattis and raita on the sides.

On a cheat day, Ranveer loves eating sweets, pastries, macrons, pizzas and burgers.

Chef Malhar from the same company accompanied Ranveer Singh to the sets of ’83 and has also been cooking for actor Deepika Padukone and Director Kabir Khan during the shoot of the film.

Sanjay Dutt loves meat and can eat it all day long with some veggies and basic sauce. Arjun Kapoor too likes chicken but minus the veggies.

The idea at the end of the day is to never starve yourself, eat healthy (as much as you can) and in correct proportions.
