If you are a first-time visitor to Singapore, there’s a chance you will feel like home in an instant. The city is a mélange of cultures—Chinese, Malay, Indian, and Eurasian. The city also has its little pockets of everything—a buzzing shopping district, swanky hotels and residences dotting the streets, a riverside dining scene, a street food district, the Marina Bay (of course), a Chinatown, you name it. There is something for everyone.
The city is always alive, the city is always vibing. It’s no wonder then that, Garnier, a global leading name in the world of natural beauty and skincare, chose Singapore as the venue for its three-day #GarnierGreenAcademy programme— a congregation of over 300 industry experts, beauty influencers, and dermatologists from across Southeast Asia and India.
Clad in cool bomber jackets, the crowds attended presentations and got an up, close and personal look at the making and science behind Garnier’s hero products—from its Vitamin C range and Micellar Water range (that comes in three solid formulations), to its upcoming launches—at the Experience Zones. The vibe was edgy and enriching every bit, peppered with some back-to-school nostalgia. Dermatologists and skin experts at the Experience Zones showed simple, yet elaborate demonstrations and experiments to the attendees that brought to fore the in-depth research and science that backs Garnier’s range of products. Participants got to indulge in individual skin analysis and see the effects of the carefully selected ingredients in the brands range of products in the various experience zones at the Green Academy. It was a show of strength for Garnier as these results displayed how the brand places special emphasis on Asian skin types, taking into consideration the region’s unique climate and environmental factors, which can affect skin sensitivity, hydration, and pigmentation.
For me, the highlight of the event was the exclusive sneak-peek at Garnier’s latest launch—the Super UV Invisible Sunscreen, available both as a serum and a spray bottle air mist. The serum is ideal for a day in the sun, and it’s not just my impression—the tests confirmed it. During a skin analysis at the Experience Zone, the results clearly showed that my skin was UV-protected, which was only reassuring! Add to it, the spray bottle makes reapplication so much easier. So, now, there's no excuse to skip reapplying your sunscreen throughout the day.
The event was an opportunity for all participants to get an insider’s look at the brand’s future in skincare, especially its commitment to eco-friendly innovation that combines science with skincare. The event was more than just a showcase—it was a deep dive into Garnier’s cutting-edge green sciences and sustainable innovations, designed to cater to all skin types, especially those in Asia.
One thing was evident across these three days—Garnier’s approach is all about educating consumers and providing tailored skincare solutions powered by green sciences.
At the same event, Garnier India announced Vedang Raina (who is really serious about his skincare) as the brand ambassador. This, according to the brand, ‘aligns perfectly with the brand’s mission to make beauty accessible and sustainable for everyone’. The brand is making waves with its sustainable practices, from sourcing responsibly to offering cruelty-free products and biodegradable packaging, all while delivering top-notch skincare results. With Raina on board, Garnier India is looking forward to inspiring a more inclusive beauty landscape in India, where everyone feels empowered and appreciated.
Expressing his excitement about the collaboration, Vedang shared, “Joining hands with a brand like Garnier, which is so committed to inclusivity and sustainability, feels incredible. The Garnier Green Academy event opened my eyes to the innovation in skincare, and I’m thrilled to be part of a brand that values self-care and beauty for all.”
