The best things in life are free! A recent Reddit chat asked users for their favorite free online resources — and more than 8,500 people chimed in. From helpful information like taking online courses to entertaining yourself with random websites, here are some of our favorite responses.
1. Foreign languages courses.
Reddit users suggest learning a foreign language for free with resources like BliuBliu,Lang8, Duolingo, /r/Language_Exchange, ielanguages, and Easy Languages - Youtube channel.
2. Job reviews.
Use Glassdoor.com the next time you're looking for a new job. A Reddit user described it as "user-generated reviews of companies that guide you on where to apply to and how to prepare for interviews."
3. E-books.
You don't have to go to the local library to find your next story book. Instead visit Project Gutenberg, Feedbooks, or SmashWords.
4. Archive.org.
"Many have heard of it, but do not appreciate what an incredible resource it is giving you free, legal access to millions of books, movies, albums, software, and a lot more. You can also play tons of old games like the original Oregon Trail and the 1992 Deluxe Edition."

6. YouTube tutorials.
Haven't found what you're looking for yet? It's probably on YouTube. "If it can be done by man, there is a YouTube tutorial about how to do it. I was shocked when I found a specific tutorial on how to fix a common problem in my 1967 Ford Thunderbird on YouTube."

"Google Maps/World and Google Street View are pretty amazing. I think people forget that you can do more than just look up your house or your workplace. Damn near the entire world is cataloged. Explore the world while you're at your desk and supposed to be working!"

Looking for something to listen to besides the radio? Reddit users suggest heading to Gimlet Media for entertaining podcasts such as Reply All.
9. Coupons.
"I recently started a new job and my medical benefits don't start for 90 days, so I have no insurance. I had to refill a prescription and was prepared to pay a ridiculous amount but the pharmacy rep told me to Google 'RX Coupons.' I found goodrx.com and printed out a coupon that reduced the price by over 75%. I'm still trying to figure out what the catch is because it seems way too good to be true."
