Get Virtual Therapy for Covid-19 Induced Anxiety

The recently-launched Gurugram-based mental healthcare facility has come out with an initiative to help people battle anxiety induced from the Covid-19 crisis. Founders Vidit Bahri and Kanishk Gupta have virtual therapy in place for people battling mental issues while under lockdown.
“There has been a sharp increase in mental health problems post the lockdown,” says Bahri. “We live in an era where many young professionals are living alone. The stresses of work, quarantine and social pressures can negatively affect one's Mental Health. We saw a 250% increase in people enquiring and opting for virtual therapies during the lockdown. Our mission at Sukoon is to make mental health services available to everyone across the country with the click of a button," he adds.

Sukoon offers 24/7 service to everyone who wants to chat and share their stress with a health care professional. A team of clinical psychologists as well as psychiatrists, are assigned to patients after a 15-minute free consultation. “Though we offer consultations over phone and messages, people mostly opt for video calls. Our experts gauge what the issue is and then recommend treatment. Some just need to share and express their feelings and don’t really need medical help,” explains Bahri. Once, a person has been diagnosed and treatment recommended, Sukoon offers to deliver medicines at their door step. The pan-India delivery system ensure people in remote areas have access to essential medicines.
However, Bahri points out that a major problem many face is that they do not know when to reach out for help. He lists out the common symptoms of anxiety that need to be addressed by a mental health expert.
