The billionaires club: The ultra-swish indo-swiss sisters Ridi and Vasundhara Oswal

Gen Z as a generation is focused, straightforward, and purpose-oriented. They know what they want and go after it with all their might. Today, we are going to tell you the tale of two such Gen Z women— Ridi and Vasundhara Oswal —who have impressed the world with their achievements and multi-hyphenate personalities. This modern-day enterprising sister duo are taking on challenges and pioneering change in numerous fields

Daughters of power couple Pankaj and Radhika Oswal, who own the multibillion-dollar global conglomerate 'Oswal Group Global’, these jet-setting sisters of Indian descent from Switzerland, have some incredible feats under their belt. They reside in ‘Villa Vari’, one of the world’s most expensive houses in the world worth more than $200 million USD. Their beautiful abode overlooks the Mt Blanc Mountains of Switzerland and has been designed by world-famous interior designer Jeffrey Wilkes, who has previously designed the iconic Oberoi Rajvilas, Oberoi Udaivilas and the Leela Hotels.

24-year-old Vasundhara is the executive director of the largest ethanol plant in East Africa, 'PRO Industries’, and spearheads investment strategy and overall plant development. She is also the director general of one of the largest bauxite mines in Conakry owned by ‘Axis Minerals’ where she manages finance and government liaisons.

In the extremely male-dominated industry of mining and petrochemicals, Vasundhara is making impressive strides—she is a hands-on leader who spends up to 15 days a month on her sites, camps, and construction projects. But that’s not all; she is also doing all that she can to give back to society and also conserve the environment. Vasundhara has set up roadways and drinking water facilities for disadvantaged communities in East Africa. She even implemented several eco-friendly and financially efficient practices in her workplace like a ZLD scheme to ensure 100 per cent waste recycling and a CO2 capturing plant at PRO Industries where high-grade CO2 is sold to the beverage industries. This makes Vasundhara one of the richest self-made women entrepreneurs under 30 in Africa as of date.

While Vasundhara is pioneering change in the corporate world, her 18-year-old sister Ridi is not far behind. Currently pursuing chemical engineering in London with the goal of eventually joining the family business, she is also an upcoming singer-songwriter who has hit singles like ‘Top Guy’ and ‘Merry Go Round’ to her name. Ridi started pursuing Indo-Western music professionally at the age of seventeen and has collaborated with known producers like Mousse T and Sky Adams. In fact, much like a doting sister, Vasundhara established an entertainment label ‘PROTunes Ltd.’ to help foster her younger sister's musical career.

Together, the sisters are bringing about a shift in humanitarian fields as well. They launched the world’s first youth-led anti-bullying not-for-profit campaign called ‘Stop The B’ which was endorsed by acclaimed footballer Ronaldinho Gaúcho. This campaign serves as a platform for people to speak freely against bullying and help those being bullied. Through this campaign, Ridi became the youngest-ever speaker at the UNESCO World Anti-Bullying Forum to talk about teenage mental health.

Vasundhara and Ridi are setting the bar high and are an inspiration to young women everywhere!
