His philosophical notions are clearly a reflection of how the pandemic changed our lives and implored us to rejig our life goals and priorities. The theme of a new “Dawn” sweeps across the collection, where mushrooms grow on dresses, gowns and tailored tunics and jackets.

As for the clothes, in consistency with Rahul’s past couture collections, they are lightweight, wearable and versatile. But most importantly, they are liberating, the relaxed, breezy silhouettes in sheer organza, tulle and silk align towards comfort dressing.

To accommodate the layers of mushrooms on the garment while ensuring they move easily and flatter the wearer’s body, each mushroom form was individually engineered through a unique pattern making process assisted by novel hand embroidery techniques.

Employing and sustaining artisans, raising concerns about the environmental damage, tackling sustainability and marrying them all with avant grade designs, Rahul achieved many objectives with just one collection.
