After watching every episode of every season released the minute it drops, including the latest episode of Season 8, it is safe to say (with pride) that Koffee With Karan (KWK) is, in fact, our favourite guilty pleasure. And it is that time of the year again (finally) when the ‘conjectures’ we have been feeding on will either get officiated or dismissed. Either way, we already love what season eight has in store.
While Karan Johar has decided to touch upon some unusual (well, non-KWK) subjects, the Sara-Ananya episode gave us some relatable truths, fits of laughter, and topics to ponder over. Here's a list of our favourite moments from the Sara Ali Khan-Ananya Panday episode.
“My brain and my mouth have zero coordination”
Let's admit, when Panday confessed that her brain and mouth have zero coordination (sometimes), we could all remember at least one instance when we meant to say something but the words that came out of our mouths never aligned with our thoughts, ruining it all for us. All we’re trying to say here is that you’re not alone, Ananya; we’ve all been there, too.
“Never” and “always” don’t really work
As Khan spoke about her experience in the industry and life, she reminded us why we should ‘never say never’; after all, you can never tell what tomorrow may hold for you. For instance, when you fight someone, you might swear to never see their face, but eventually, as time passes, things automatically fall into place, and the ‘never’ or ‘always’ you promised are long gone and forgotten.
“Unrealistic expectations are a recipe for disaster”
Khan revealed that one of the things that helps her navigate through the industry and her work better is having lower expectations, for she believes that unrealistic expectations are a recipe for disaster. And well, truer words have never been spoken. This advice applies in life, too. Think about it, simply having less or realistic expectations will save you a lot of hassle.
“We (sometimes) overcompensate for the lack of something”
Khan confesses she sometimes puts up a loud exterior by making unusual choices (applying a blue lipstick does fit well here), only because she felt the need to overcompensate for her failures by making unusual choices. In life, we often feel the need to put up a face to hide our insecurities or the poor choices we make. And that may not be a requisite.
“Don’t move on fast; it's a disaster”
During the last segment, the rapid-fire round, Ananya Panday had some solid advice to give. Panday believes that moving on fast is a bad idea, for it can be disastrous. She says, “It is better to take your time, watch Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, cry when you hear them say ‘pyaar dosti hai’ (love is friendship), but don’t move on fast.” And this might just be the older sister's advice you may need at the moment.
