Here’s why Priyanka Chopra missed cousin Parineeti Chopra’s wedding 

After actor Parineeti Chopra and Delhi politician, Raghav Chadha, got engaged in May this year, they finally tied the knot surrounded by friends and family in a grand wedding in The Leela Palace, Udaipur. There was one noticeable absence among the guests, though. Chopra’s cousin, Priyanka Chopra gave the wedding a miss. Nick Jonas, Priyanka’s pop star husband, was also not present, given he’s busy touring across the US for Jonas Brothers concerts.

While reports earlier had already mentioned that the now US-based star would not be present at the wedding ceremony, a new video clip of Madhu Chopra, her mother, explains the reasons for her absence. At the airport, post the wedding, Madhu spoke about the new couple, and why PeeCee wasn’t seen at the functions when asked by photographers. She said, "Woh kam kar rahi hai (She is working)". She congratulated the new couple on Instagram though, through a carousel of their wedding pictures that had a caption welcoming Chadha to the family and wishing Parineeti, who she called Tish, love and blessings.  

Even though Priyanka couldn’t make it for the wedding, she had attended the May engagement ceremony, when she’d taken to Instagram to congratulate the two and had also shared her look for the occasion—a lime-green Mishru ruffled saree paired with a corset.
