Exclusive: Yami Gautam lets us in on her favourite piece of jewellery

Elegance, beauty and class are three words that define the woman that Yami Gautam is. Be it her acting chops in movies such as Vicky Donor, Kaabil, Badlapur and Uri or her many showstopping moments on the runway—Gautam has time and again, exhibited her immense calibre on screen or on the ramp.

An artist who doesn’t shy away from speaking her mind, she inspired many women to be confident in their own skin, as she spoke about having keratosis pilaris herself. So when she strutted down for Shyamal and Bhumika, a designer duo who are known for their opulent lehengas and festive wear, it was nothing but a splendid sight to behold.

Wearing a beautiful, light-hued number, Gautam looked like a dream! In a conversation with Cosmo, Gautam got candid about her outfit, walking on the runway and more. Here are the excerpts...

What do you love the most about this collection and your outfit?

Well, I love to begin with the colour. I think it's a beautiful pastel colour and it looked quite nice on the ramp, I’d like to believe or I’ve been told. , I like it and of course, the work done which is inspired by nature and this is a lot of hand-embroidered work. The fusion is so beautiful. It's so seamless that nothing will feel you know jarring to the eyes or that it's a bit too much. It's very me. It's very understated and classy at the same time.

How do you calm your nerves before a show?

You can’t!

What is your favourite piece of traditional clothing or jewellery that you own?

It has to be the nath—the traditional Himachali nath that my naani had gotten made for me for my wedding.
