Young or old, rich or poor—everybody experiences zits, inflammation, and a gamut of skin concerns at different points in time. Despite exorbitantly priced facials, top-of-the-line skincare tools, and access to state-of-the-art technology, celebrities, too, struggle with seemingly common skin ailments throughout their life span. And, while their photoshopped pictures may lead you to believe otherwise, remember, WE ARE ALL HUMAN.
We're all made up of blood, bones, and HORMONES (the silent skin killer). So, basically, we're all dealing with our fair share of skin concerns. Now, on the one hand, you may choose to cover it up, or on the other, celebrate it—it's YOUR choice. Below, we've shortlisted a few celebrities who chose to do the latter, putting their blemishes on display like badges of honour.
You go, girls!
Yami Gautam
Just yesterday, the actor revealed a skin secret: she's been dealing with an incurable skin condition known as keratosis pilaris. Opening up about her ailment, she said, "I recently shot for some images and just when they were about to go in for post-production (a common procedure) to conceal my skin condition called keratosis pilaris, I thought, "Hey Yami, why don’t you embrace this fact and accept it enough to be OKAY with it. Just let it be...(Yes, I do talk out loud to myself)...I didn't feel like airbrushing my folliculitis or smoothing that under-eye or ‘shaping up’ that waist a tiny bit more! And yet, I feel beautiful."
Keratosis pilaris, also known as follicular keratosis, is a chronic condition that causes rough patches and small, acne-like bumps on the skin. The bumps are usually found on the arms, thighs, cheeks and buttocks.
Mindy Kaling
The Indian-American actor, screenwriter, and comedian often experiences breakouts, pretty randomly, like most of us. One fine day, she decided to put her blemishes on display to her 6 million followers on Instagram. She wrote, "That zit cream in your 30's life. At least I'm not going on the Tonight Show later today." (Yes, adult acne exists, and it's normal).
Ruby Rose
"I mean it sucks, for me...I don't see how it's bothering so many others? But I'm human. It happens...one side of my face is clear and the other is a mess." Thank you, Ruby Rose.
Lucy Hale

The model made heads turn at the 2018 Golden Globes—and, it wasn't only her outfit that caught the onlookers attention. Fans applauded Jenner for showing off her acne with pride. She replied saying, "never let that shit stop you." In an interview with Allure in 2015, she revealed, "I wouldn't look people in the eye. It was not a good time for me—it just killed my self-esteem. I thought when I didn't look at someone, they couldn't see my face."

The global icon—who enjoys a whopping fan following of over 250 million on Instagram—often takes to the social media platform to share her journey of dealing with psoriasis. In fact, her beauty line, KKW Beauty, offers products to help woman regain their self esteem, which they may have lost due to a skin ailment. Sometimes I just feel like it's my big flaw and everyone knows about it, so why cover it?"
