Make-up must-haves in Pantone’s Colour of the Year

Call it a modern-day tradition, Pantone has officially revealed its colour of the year for 2024–Peach Fuzz. The ritual acts as the ultimate conversation starter in the world of design globally. Following the loud and invigorating year of Viva Magenta, we see the intensity has dialled down this year. The warm and welcoming shade of peachy orange evokes summer dreams and embodies our innate need for closeness and connection. The hue is anything but taciturn; after all, we can all see the allure of apricot. Radiant and elegant, the Pantone Colour Insitute credits this choice to the compassion resonating with the colour. A hardworking and seemingly optimistic shade—it is gentle, velvety, and contemporary all at the same time! With turmoil and strife plaguing the past few years, the nurturing yet inspiring nature of the shade comes into play. It’s safe to say that the choice has us all feeling peachy. While it’s not as striking as some of the other recent trending colours, it’s certainly got an ancient charm.

This year also commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Pantone Colour of the Year ritual. The concept made its debut in 1999 with Cerulean Blue (thank you, The Devil Wears Prada). The colour is undoubtedly set to foray into the world of fashion, design, and art—with the wellness and beauty spheres being no exception.
