If, like me, you're a part of the 'zillennial' micro-generation—aka, us unfortunate folk who are too young to have experienced the zenith of millennial life (read: the side part) and too old to be dominating the current conversation (supporting the middle part), then you may remember Kristen Stewart from her role in the groundbreaking, cinematic masterpiece that was the Twilight saga. "I don't want to know what the square root of pi is" will forever hold a special place in my heart. Yes, I was #TeamEdward
Now, in my mind, whenever her name is mentioned, I picture 18-year-old Bella Swan with bellowing, long dark locks. However, this was a look from over a decade ago. Yikes, time has gone fast, right? And since then, the actor, who has subsequently achieved many notable successes, has also undergone many hair transformations. I think it's safe to say that she's pulled off just about every style—from the buzzcut to a peroxide blonde textured bob, there's not much ground she hasn't covered.
Most recently (aka, when taking to the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival just a few days ago), Kristen sported a freshly cut version of her pop-punk mullet-meets-pixie 'do and it's been styled in a wet-look, no less. The star's hairstylist, Adir Abergel took to Instagram with a post showing off his work.
As we can see, the cut features a longer length down the nape of her neck with cropped sides and a layered, jagged, dimensional micro-fringe. What makes this a hybrid style is the grunge twist that she's put on the classic pixie crop. The micro fringe and mullet layers say it all, really. It almost reminds me of Princess Diana, but if Princess Diana were in a pop punk band...
Having said that, although a refresh of the cut has been had, this isn't all new. Back in October of 2022, when taking to the Chanel SS23 Paris Fashion Week show, Kristen first debuted the look and at the time, it was one we had yet to have see her rock.
A pretty iconic transformation, wouldn't you agree?
