Fairytales are great and all, but the main thing it's important to remember about them is that they're not real. Like, you're not going to prick your finger and then go to sleep for a thousand years, and you're probably not going to enter into a coma after eating a poisonous apple and only be awoken by love's true kiss.
These things just don't happen IRL.
But one guy, 32-year-old Jay Breen from South London, genuinely appears to believe he's in Cinderella, and he's shotgunned the role of Prince Charming.
Jay used cab-sharing app Kabbee to hail a taxi with a stranger as a means of cutting costs, and he ended up in a taxi with a young woman. Although he never caught her name or asked to exchange numbers, Jay had taken a shine to her. So when he spotted that she'd left her shoe in the back of the taxi, he thought it a sign to try and track her down.
And we'll stop the story right there, if you don't mind. Because can we just take a moment to ask how on earth this adult human managed to evacuate a taxi without having one of her shoes attached to her feet? Given that one of those shoes makes up 50% of her footwear, you'd think it would be one of those things that you just, you know, notice.
Okay, okay. Maybe the mystery woman had gone to the gym, and the spare shoe might have simply fallen out of her bag. It was a Nike trainer, after all. But doesn't this strike you as a tiny bit too similar to the plot of that well known Disney fairytale to genuinely be true?
Kabbee, on the other hand, are totally running with this one, and since Jay informed them of his mission to find his girl, have tweeted all their followers, and emailed all their users in an attempt to find her.

Well, it is Valentine's Day on Sunday, and Jay needs a date by the looks of it.
So on the off-chance you or someone you know happens to be missing one shoe and shared a taxi with the bloke in the picture above in recent days, you should probably do the right thing and get in touch.
Even if it's only so you can get your other shoe back. Nike's aren't cheap, you know. #Romance
