Love’s always in the air come Valentine’s Day. And even though we are exactly three months (and a day) away, Valentine’s Day 2025 will be a very special one for Bridget Jones fans. That's right, Renee Zellweger is all set to return in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, the fourth and final film in the popular rom-com franchise. Adapted from the third novel in Helen Fielding’s Bridget Jones series, the film is set to premiere on Peacock on February 13, 2025.

Giving us a sneak peek, the makers dropped the first trailer yesterday and we couldn't be more excited! Here’s what we know about the upcoming film so far.

The plot

Mad About the Boy picks up four years after the events of Bridget Jones’s Baby and follows Jones as a single, widowed mother of two, after the tragic death of Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) on a humanitarian mission to Sudan. She is now living a new phase of her life, juggling motherhood, career and a new romance with help from her friends and family. Helping her raise her kids, Billy and Mabel, is her former flame Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant). Adding a twist to the love triangle is a character played by Leo Woodall—whom she meets on an online dating app—who is 28 years younger than her. Who will she end up with is what promises to be a fabulous watch in February.

Old cast members and new

The film brings back many of the original cast members, including Hugh Grant as Daniel Cleaver and Emma Thompson as Dr Rawlings, along with Jim Broadbent and Gemma Jones, as Bridget’s parents. Familiar faces like Sarah Solemani (who plays her best friend Miranda) and Sally Phillips also return. Newcomers Leo Woodall, Isla Fisher, and Chiwetel Ejiofor join the cast, adding a whole lot of drama and intrigue to Bridget’s life.
