All the rumors on BookTok are true: Blake Lively has been cast alongside Justin Baldoni to star in the upcoming adaptation of It Ends With Us, the bestselling novel by Colleen Hoover.

According to Deadline, Hoover has over 2 billion views on her TikTok hashtag and is the best-selling novelist in the United States. And It Ends With Us was *the* top-selling print book of last year, so it's not exactly a shock to see it get turned into a movie. However, people on Twitter aren't thrilled that Blake signed onto the project, to the point where she's trending and the tweets are pretty much endless.

So, why the backlash? Hoover has come under fire lately for what The Mary Sue calls "problematic tropes" in her novels (they have a great breakdown of said tropes), as well as for announcing a coloring book based on It Ends With Us—which got so much backlash it was shelved.
