Selena Gomez looks so different with this light brown hair colour

Selena Gomez causes an online stir by doing just about anything beauty-related, whether it's overlining her lips, going bare-faced or channelling her iconic spring breakers look. No wonder Rare Beauty is such a roaring success, Gomez knows her beauty and we listen up.

Well, today she stopped us in our tracks while tapping through IG stories, with a surprising new hair hue. The star's dark brown-black tresses were gone, replaced with a warm, chocolatey light brown, and she looks so different. You know how we feel about a hair transformation here on Cosmo. And if you don't... we live and breathe them.

Her hair has grown so much, and her long thick layers create so much shape as it glows with a honey wash. This lighter shade really made her whole complexion so warm and buttery. It's all just *chefs kiss*.

But then she pulled some real Wizards of Waverly Place sh*t because tell me why in the next slide—and the same black roll neck dress—her hair is its usual glossy dark liquid brunette? Witchcraft, that's why.

That's way more than a trick of the light, so it seems Gomez was using a filter that gave her hair this light appearance, which would also explain the complexion switch-up, too. But I'm not embarrassed to have made such a mistake, because I really enjoyed those few moments thinking she'd dyed her hair.
