Niharika NM talks about food, digital content and being a part of world's first-ever ASMR cover shoot

For the world’s first-ever ASMR shoot, Cosmo India quizzed nine creative individuals about the sounds that have a calming effect on them. One of the individuals was Niharika NM, a content creator known for her hilarious videos online.

Cosmo India: Niharika, tell us about your favourite snack. 

Niharika NM: “My favourite snack is the one that’s erm, not really the best for your health. I love potato chips and none of my cheat meals are proper meals...they are always snacks. It is either chips such as Lay’s or Kurkure.” 

CI: What is your first memory of food? 

NNM: “I think my first memory of food is that of mangoes; it was the first fruit my parents fed me and I have so many pictures and videos of me drinking mango juice.” 

CI: Are there any sounds that are soothing to you? 

NNM: “I never thought I’d be one of those people who listen to different sounds to doze off. However, now I cannot sleep without listening to the sound of the waves crashing against the shore or the sound of raindrops. Also, I love listening to the sound of water when there’s pin-drop silence.” 

CI: What was the last thing you laughed at on the Internet? 

NNM: “Dogs, certainly because they are just so funny and cute with their tongues out and their hair all over the place. Even memes where they are giving a side-eye cracks me up.” 

CI: And what kind of videos do you like to watch on YouTube? 

NNM: “I love watching daily vlogs, and people’s mundane routines. These, I do not think are really mundane because I love to sit back with my pack of chips and replicate their entire routine of girls waking up at 5:00 am, hitting the gym, and making green juice. I love to watch these kinds of videos; it’s almost as if I am manifesting the same kind of life for myself.” 

CI: How was your experience shooting for the world’s first ASMR covers? 

NNM: “Never in my life did I think I would shoot an ASMR video because it is different from the kind of content I produce. However, it was one of the most unique experiences of my life and now, I totally understand why people enjoy shooting the same. It was so much fun, and I also got to eat all of the yummy food.” 

CI: Who is your favourite person to share snacks with? 

NNM: “I love to snack alone and sometimes with my family when I am at home in Bengaluru.”
