The notorious Chandler Bing, played by Canadian-American actor Matthew Perry, is all set to pen an unflinchingly honest autobiography, delving into the intimate details of his personal and professional life. In his book, the F.R.I.E.N.D.S star will take the readers behind the scenes of the most successful sitcom of all time, divulging information about his triumphant yet tumultuous journey to stardom.

"There has been so much written about me by others in the past. I thought it was time people heard it directly from the horse's mouth. In this case, the horse’s mouth being mine," said Matthew Perry. The first of the F.R.I.E.N.D.S cast members to write an autobiography, the memoir promises to be "candid, delightfully gossipy, and absolutely hilarious."

Apart from all things sitcom, the in-depth and self-aware memoir also sheds light on Matthew Perry's struggles with addiction, his lifelong battle with the disease and what fueled it—despite seemingly having it all—all told with his trademark humour. *This* is the book that F.R.I.E.N.D.S fans have been waiting for, but also one that shines a powerful light into the dark for anyone who is battling with addiction themselves or know of a loved one who is fighting it out.

The untitled memoir is expected to hit the shelves sometime in August of 2022, published by Flatiron Books, a division of the publisher Macmillan who bought the book overnight ahead of it hitting the auction block. In a press release announcing the deal, Megan Lynch, the publisher of Flatiron Books, said, "We need humour, we need catharsis, and we need to agree on something—and Matthew’s extraordinary story, told in his inimitable voice, is that thing. Matthew’s book has unrivalled potential to bring people together, which feels especially galvanizing right now, a time of isolation and division."
