From Shah Rukh-Gauri to Akshay-Twinkle, here's a list of star couples that will make you believe in true, forever love.
Ayushmann Khurrana and Tahira Kashyap
Tahira and Ayushmann met each other at a physics coaching centre when they were both in the 12th grade. Both began crushing *hard* on each other, but both were way too coy to confess their feelings for one another. Fast forward to 2010, Ayushmann formally proposed to Tahira, with music, red roses, wine, candlelit dinner, and a ring! The two tied the knot on 1st November 2011, after dating for several years, and have two children, Virajveer and Varushka.
Kajol and Ajay Devgn
Kajol and Ajay Devgn first met on the sets of the 1995 film, Hulchul, and it was the call of destiny. "I had met Kajol once before we started shooting for Hulchul. Honestly, I wasn’t very keen to meet her after that. When you meet her for the first time, she comes across as loud, arrogant, and a very talkative person. Moreover, we were very different from each other in terms of personality. But I guess what is meant to happen, happens," Ajay revealed in an interview. The couple tied the knot on 24th February 1999 and have two children, Nysa and Yug.
Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan
The King of Bollywood reportedly first fell for Gauri when he was just 18 years old. He had bumped into her at a party when she was just 14! On 25th October 1991, the two decided to settle down and began their family. In 1997, they welcomed their first offspring, Aryan, and three years later, in 2000, Suhana was born. In 2013, AbRam, their second son, was born via surrogacy.
Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna
The two are said to have met at a photo shoot for a leading magazine in Mumbai, where Akshay developed an instant crush on Twinkle. However, it was during the shooting of the film International Khiladi (1999), that the duo fell in love. In 2001, Akshay and Twinkle decided to put a ring on it, and have two children, Aarav and Nitara, together. Just a day ago, the pair celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary!
Genelia D'Souza and Riteish Deshmukh
Their love story began on the sets of Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2002. What started out as a friendship soon blossomed into true love, and the two got married on 3rd February 2012. The couple shares two children, Riaan and Rahyl.
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai
Reportedly, when Abhishek first met Miss World in Switzerland, during the shooting of her film, Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya (1997), he was smitten by her beauty. But they dated a slew of celebrities before they got together in 2006-2007, during the shoot of their film Dhoom 2 (2006) and Guru (2007). The actor revealed, "I was filming in New York for a movie. And, I used to stand on the balcony of my hotel room and wish that, 'One day, wouldn't it be nice if I was together with her, married.' Years later, we were there for the premiere of Guru. After the premiere, we were back in the hotel. So, I took her to the very same balcony and I asked her to marry me." The two have a daughter, Aaradhya, together.
Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra
The two first met in London for a business deal, after which they began dating. In 2003, the duo got married, and 12 years later they had two children, Viaan, and Samisha, who was born via surrogacy. While divorce rumours have been doing the rounds for the past few months—amid the pornography app case—the two haven't confirmed any such speculations.
Vidya Balan and Siddharth Roy Kapur
While the couple is seldom spotted together ever since their marriage, they seem to be very much in love. They first met backstage at an award event, and sparks flew instantly. They dated for a while, after which they tied the knot on 14th December 2012. "When Siddharth proposed, I couldn’t believe it initially. Since we were together, I knew we would talk about marriage at some stage. And then, he popped the question and did not even wait for a reply. It was taken for granted! I could have gone on living without marriage, but I do not believe in live-in relationships because it may be difficult when you want a child. When he proposed, I was like, 'Okay, so now we need to talk about it,'" Vidya confessed.
Madhuri Dixit and Sriram Nene
The two met via common friends and spent a good deal of time getting to know and dating each other. The two decided to put a ring on it on 17th October 1999, in a secret ceremony in the United States of America. The news about their wedding was broken in India by Madhuri's long-time manager and colleague, Rikku Rakeshnath. The couple has two children together, Arin and Ryan.
Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bhaduri
Reportedly, it was Jaya who fell in love with Big B, soon after they were introduced on the sets of Guddi (1971), in which he made a special appearance. After a whirlwind romance, the duo entered marital bliss on 3rd June 1973 and had two children, Abhishek and Shweta. The two have been together for over 48 long years!
