The King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan's palatial Palm Jumeirah property screams luxury—priced at a whopping $ 2.8 million and perched across the scenic sandy beaches of Dubai.

'Jannat' is located on Palm Beach Jumeirah, the largest man-made sand seashore on the planet, and offers a profound sense of peace and serenity to its owners, Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan. The multi-crore property serves to be a home-away-from-home for the actor and his family, away from media glare and his die-hard fans who are often seen gathering around 'Mannat' to catch a glimpse of the superstar. “The year-end is a time for togetherness, family, and celebrations. The UAE is one of our favourite getaways as a family. It’s an easy flight and Dubai has so much for everyone to do, it’s lovely for a reunion. Also we have many friends here and so it’s lovely to catch up,” said Gauri Khan in an interview with Gulf News.

Situated in the K Frond at Palm Jumeirah, 'Signature Villa' is spread over 8,500 sq. ft and houses a lush garden, two remote-controlled garages, and swanky interiors that Gauri Khan can take all credit for. "We have retained the villa’s original floor, ceiling and wall covers. I have, over time, styled the villa with pieces of furniture from my travels and those created at my design studio. My design preference tends towards warmth, comfort, and minimalism. This is a place where the family converges for holidays—kids are back from boarding schools and so on—so the focus is ease," explains Gauri in an interview. Featuring world-class, state-of-the-art infrastructure, Palm Jumeirah has private pools, top restaurants, clubs, shopping centres, and a private beach that supports a range of water sports and activities including deep-sea diving, fishing etc. The island also has roads and tunnels with efficient public transportation including the 5.4-km monorail.

You may not know that the residential property was gifted to Shah Rukh Khan by Nakheel—a Dubai-based property developer—in September, 2007, under a formal gift deed after obtaining the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) approval. While the exteriors of the villa are open to visitors, the interiors are properly secured with restricted entry. A while after the property was purchased, a dispute arose with the Income Tax department, putting the lavish villa under the tax scanner. Later, it was declared that the property wouldn't be treated as taxable, since it was bought before 2009. That year itself, in the month of October, the I-T Act was amended and declared gifts valued more than a certain amount to be taxable.
