"Glass skin is a definition for smooth, tight, taut, even-toned flawless skin. It can be achieved for sure with the right skincare regimen and professional guidance. Glass skin came as a fashion statement or a fad from Korea with the advent of the 7 step routine. This routine requires a regimented discipline at least 4 to 6 weeks before you see the difference on your skin, " says celebrity cosmetic dermatologist and beauty guru Dr Chytra V Anand, founder of Kosmoderma Clinics.
Dr Anand adds that though it is easier for those with normal skin type to achieve the 'glass skin', others can get the same with a little bit of discipline."If you have acne-prone skin or pigmented skin or oily skin with pores it can take up to 3 to 6 months to achieve the glassy skin appearance. You will require professional treatments to achieve this, just using a home skin care regimen will not be sufficient," she adds.
Well, now that you know that smooth, flawless and glossy skin is for everyone. Here are Dr Anand's tips to nail the 'glass skin' trend. Remember: Consistency is the key to this skincare regime. That means you can no longer go to bed without removing your makeup. After all, good skin comes to those who CTM!
"Even under normal circumstances, a dermatologist usually advises that you cleanse your face twice, especially at night. The first cleanse is to remove your makeup so you can do this using a makeup removal wipes or a makeup remover on a cotton pad such as micellar water. The second cleanse is using a pH balanced gentle skin cleanser on your face and washing it off with water."
